![]() In this section you'll find all the continuity links I have from my off air recordings of the series, as well as some other TVS related nostalgia. |
"Have Yourself a Wizard Little Christmas" - Christmas Day 1988 Link 1 - This superb hour long special features a different arrangement of the Majeika theme as well as an alternative opening and closing title sequence. The end music is however, simply the standard theme lengthened. |
Link 2 - A small musical sting accentuates the action
(in this case Father Christmas's sledge crashing into Majeika's windmill)
and signals an advert break.
"Gonna Wash those Spells Right Outta my Hair" - 1989 The second episode of the second series was preceded by a trailer for the evening's entertainment on TVS, as well as a look ahead to the programmes directly after Mr Majeika. |
"Jim Genie" - 1989 Episode 5 of the second season begins with an onscreen continuity card produced especially for the series. |
"Fangs for the Memory" -1990 Link 1 - Ahh the days when pictures sent in by kids were shown on screen |
Link 2 - A short link at the end of the show. Notice how varied the TVS end caption card is in the next few clips. In this period the TVS caption was normally a computer animated logo - but in the case of Mr Majeika which was made on film the end caption is a static caption card which has been filmed - you can see this from the tell tale wobble of a film recording. |
"Catch a Falling Ball" - 1990 Link 1 - Mr Majeika followed "Rolf's Cartoon Club" on Wednesday afternoons, and in this link there is a short preview for the new series of "Press Gang" which starred a very young Julia Sawalha. |
Link 2 - A recurring thread throughout the CITV links sees something go wrong to either the presenters or the equipment used in the TV studio
Link 3 - Mr Majeika comes to an end, and so does CITV for another day.
"Some Day My Doodles Will Come" - 1990 Link 1 - Another link blaming technical problems on Mr Majeika - but quite what Jan sees on the desk to react like this is a mystery to me!! |
Link 2 - Another quite bizarre link from just outside the studio this time. Again note how different the TVS caption is compared to "Fangs for the Memory"
"I've Grown Accustomed to his Face" - 1990 This story featured dopplegangers of each of the main cast members - so in a rather nice link the CITV crew mixed pre-recorded footage of the presenters in with the "live" section - thus making it seem like a double image in the final braodcast. |

Coast to Coast - the TVS regional news programme covered many serious
issues throughout its 11 year run - but it also looked at the lighter
side of life in the south of England - including the filming of the
third season of Mr Majeika.
"Coast to Coast" - Filmed 3rd August 1989 The piece, introduced by Mike Debens was gathered and narrated by Merrill Harries, and features your very own webmaster (I'll give you clue - I'm not either of the older gentlemen!!) |
"Coast to Coast" - 1992 Only tenuously Majeika related - this interesting news story discusses TVS's loss of its regional broadcasting franchise to Meridian. |
